Defining a Slurry Phase Map for Gas Hydrate Management in Multiphase Flow Systems

چکیده
This study proposes a criterion for the safe transportability of gas hydrate slurries in oil-dominant flowlines. Fluids chemistry plays role how particles agglomerate, which occurs time window take to decrease their porosity because crystallization capillary walls or seal water within pores by action chemical additives, completely preventing any outer surface particle and avoiding liquid bridge formation (agglomeration). Hydrodynamic aspects come from lift vs buoyancy/weight forces that tend suspend/settle particles, as well collision disruption rates play agglomeration process. The is rather simple shows importance subcooling crystallization, cut, mixture velocity, oil–water interfacial tension can be lowered use additives. A chart assuring safe, fully suspended slurry flow (low plugging risk) proposed, called phase map, directives its flowline design management are discussed. Discussion also given on scale up laboratory measurements into field conditions proposal new dimensionless group, Bassani number.

A method for bubble volume measurement under constant flow conditions in gas–liquid two-phase flow
Measuring the volume of a bubble, especially at its detachment, is a basic subject in gas-liquid two-phase flow research. A new indirect method for this measurement under constant flow conditions is presented. An electronic device is designed and constructed based on laser beam intensity. This device calculates the frequency of the bubble formation by measuring the total time of the formation p...
متن کاملSimulation of gas-liquid two phase flow in upriser pipe of gas-lift systems
Gas-lift pumps are devices for lifting liquid phase incorporating the gas phase to be injected in the bottom of liquid column. They are widely used in various industrial applications such as oil extracting in petroleum industries. Gas-liquid flow being the main part of the flow through these systems, flowing in vertical pipes of gas-lift pumps has different regimes namely bubbly, slug, chur...
متن کاملDynamic multiphase flow model of hydrate formation in marine sediments
[1] We developed a multicomponent, multiphase, fluid and heat flow model to describe hydrate formation in marine sediments; the oneand two-dimensional model accounts for the dynamic effects of hydrate formation on salinity, temperature, pressure, and hydraulic properties. Free gas supplied from depth forms hydrate, depletes water, and elevates salinity until pore water is too saline for further...
متن کاملA method for detecting bubbles in two-phase gas-liquid flow
Detecting bubble in two-phase flow has been a basic issue in two-phase flow systems. A new method for measuring the frequency of bubble formation is presented in this paper. For this purpose, an electronic device was designed and constructed which works based on a change in intensity of laser beam. For this purpose, continues light beam is embedded just above the needle, which is received by a ...
متن کاملMultiphase Flow Measurement in the Gas Industry
Over the last 20 years, a number of multiphase flow measurement techniques have been developed for metering oil (or condensate) / water / gas commingled streams. The available techniques can be characterized as those that operate inline or with partial separation. The inline variety typically consists of several meters or measurements and a central computer to interpret the signals and calculat...
